We Are Privileged

“But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.” (Matthew 13:16-17)

Jesus said what's in the above verses when He was about to explain a parable to His disciples. In so many ways in our lives, we are so much privileged and opportuned. But, because of our insatiable wants and all that, we always forget all we've got and chase our wants, that's the problem of most of us.

When we reflect deeply on many things that has happened to us, we'd realize that we ought to be always grateful to God at all times. For example, if you are reading this post, then it means you've got a sound eyes. It means you healthy enough to read on your phone / PC. It means you're educated enough to read what's posted on the Internet. It means you're alive today to give your life to Jesus or continue to be faithful to Him...

The list of our gratitude is quite endless when we look through all God has done in our lives. We should never let temporary defeat weigh us down. We shouldn't let what we want make us forget all we have. Let's ensure we work towards our daily gratitude to God.

Also, moving further in the opening verses, Jesus explained the “parable of the sower.” Reading from Matthew 13:8, Jesus talked about the different kinds of believers that exists. It is a great privilege to know this and as Christians / believers in Jesus, we can know our stand. It is a great privilege that we do not have to be saved by our works for Jesus paid the price on the Cross. It is a privilege for a born-sinner man to be cleansed completely from sin and be called child of the Most High.

It's normal to desire good things and it is not a sin to want to buy what pleases one. However, the crave for our wants should never surpass our gratitude to God. They should never even compete at all. To whom much is given, much is expected.

God bless
